Choosing private care is a major financial decision, whether you are coordinating for a loved one or seeking a dedicated professional for your own home. By working directly with a private RN, your resources are focused on the person actually providing the care. This approach removes the administrative layers of an agency, allowing for a higher standard of one-on-one attention and a more direct line of communication. Haven at Home Nursing offers a simple pricing model. You get total transparency from the start.

Regional Market Comparison
-Based on local research conducted December 2025-
Private pay rates for nursing in our region vary significantly based on the provider model. When looking at the traditional options, here is what you can expect:
Traditional Agency RNs: Rates range from $110 to $150 per hour. Because these agencies often separate "nursing" from "caregiving," their RNs generally do not provide assistance with the daily personal care or hygiene tasks that are essential. Typically, clients pay and extra $30-35/hr for homemaker or CNA services.
Medication Management Fees: Some agencies utilize a model charging $420 per month just for medication oversight, which may only include two visits.
Costly Additional Visits: If you need care beyond an initial agreement—such as an extra visit outside of a 1x/week schedule—additional nursing care is often billed separately at rates as high as $210 per visit. These fees apply regardless of the actual time spent with you.
Insurance-Only Restrictions: Many regional providers do not offer private pay services at all. This means you are limited strictly to what insurance will approve and pay for, rather than the comprehensive care you actually need.
When hiring through a large agency, the nurse at the bedside often receives only a fraction of what you actually pay. While you may see an "average nurse wage" listed at $40–$75/hr, it is vital to distinguish between a base wage and a professional service rate.
When a family is billed $150/hr by an agency that pays the nurse $45/hr, you are losing $105 every single hour to administrative "middleman" costs. A significant portion of your dollar is redirected toward agency overhead, franchise fees, and corporate profits rather than the actual care of your loved one.
The $100/hr rate is all-inclusive. It eliminates that corporate markup while covering the essential professional costs that agencies typically hide in their billing, such as:
Professional Liability & Malpractice Insurance
Clinical Supplies & Care Coordination
Self-Employment Taxes & Business Filings
By choosing an independent RN, you ensure that your investment is no longer split with a corporation. Instead, 100% of your dollar goes directly toward high-level clinical expertise and dedicated, one-on-one care.
To ensure transparency, a Good Faith Estimate is provided based on the number of hours requested each week. Because needs can change, this estimate can be adjusted as care evolves; any changes will always be discussed in advance.
The simple flat-rate model is designed to be straightforward and predictable for the nursing and coordination services outlined in the Standard Services section. This $100/hr investment includes routine off-site tasks and care coordination as part of a seamless service experience. Unique situations—such as complex case management or extended insurance advocacy—falls outside of this standard scope and can be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
